Setting out on my 5k run this morning a white feather floated down in front of me and landed at my feet. I like to believe that white feathers are sent from the wings of your guardian angel just when you need a little reminder that life is not just good, but great!
Paying heed to that reminder, the day proceeded in the best possible way. Rhona and I ran as the sun came up over the Campsie Hills and once again marvelled and gave gratitude for the countryside we are lucky enough to call home.
The morning's to-do list was effortlessly expedited and followed by a leisurely lunch in Lychee restaurant in Glasgow with the Gazelle (I can thoroughly recommend the 2 course lunch special, even if the amount of garlic consumed will keep me vampire-free for considerable time to come!)
A serendipitous meeting with an old colleague and the chance to have some 1-2-1 time with Mini-Masonette after I picked her up from school for the first time in eons, widened the smile even more.
How else would you top such a perfect day than by pitching the tent in the living room and making shadow puppets to entertain all inside? (I have to admit that Middle-Masonette was the most skilled of puppeteers, contorting her hands into any animal requested, including a moose and a chimpanzee!)
Today was a resounding reminder that we work to LIVE, that laughter really is the best medicine and that a change can be as good as a rest. I needed, and am truly grateful for that reminder. So now I ask you to take 5 and think about the ways in which you have been reminded to embrace life.
